Production Description:

Examining the collapse of the American factory system, Sweat follows steelworkers in a small Pennsylvania town as they come to terms with the destruction of the American Dream in their professional and personal lives. Based in part on interviews done by the playwright in Reading, Pennsylvania – called the poorest city in America in 2012 – the play asks us to retrace the economic collapse of many American towns and the ensuing racial, political, and violent ideology that emerged as a result.
